Insurance Coverage Check

Curious about which professional titles your insurance covers for assessments? Here’s the scoop:

Registered Psychologist
Our psychologists are registered with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists, ensuring they meet the highest standards of professional practice and ethics.

Are You Questioning If You Want to Pursue an Assessment?

If you’re unsure whether an assessment is the right step, consider seeing one of our counsellors first. Many people find it helpful to talk to a counsellor about their concerns and create a plan before deciding on an assessment. Often, people start with counselling and then receive an internal referral for an assessment if needed. This way, they can get support while waiting for their assessment with a psychologist.

If a teacher or another professional has recommended a psychoeducational assessment, we can certainly move forward with that. However, if you’re unsure, discussing your situation with a counsellor might provide the clarity you need to decide the best course of action.

Assessment Services

What to Expect During the Initial Appointment:
You will meet with a psychologist to review processes, gather case history, and make a plan for the assessments. This initial meeting is a great opportunity to ask questions and understand how the assessment process works.

Assessment Process:
Each assessment is personalized to meet your specific needs and can look a bit different depending on the area being assessed. Here’s a general idea of what to expect:

  • Checklists and Questionnaires: There may be checklists and questionnaires for you and others, such as teachers or family members, to complete. These tools help gather comprehensive information about the individual’s behaviors, experiences, and skills.
  • One-on-One Testing: There will be one-on-one testing time with the psychologist. This can include a variety of activities and tasks designed to evaluate specific areas of concern.
  • Varied Duration: The time required for assessments can vary.

Our goal is to make the assessment process as positive and comfortable as possible. Our team is here to support you every step of the way.
