Evidence Based Practice

We are committed to providing our clients with the highest standard of care, utilizing evidence-based practices to ensure effective and reliable outcomes. Depending on the unique needs of each client, a Wildflowers’ Team Member may combine multiple approaches or focus on a single method. This flexibility ensures that clients receive the most effective and personalized care, fostering growth, healing, and overall well-being.

Below are the primary therapeutic approaches we use!

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a structured, time-limited therapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. By working on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions, clients learn practical skills to manage and overcome various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and stress.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP is a specific type of CBT used primarily to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). This approach involves gradually exposing clients to feared situations or thoughts without engaging in compulsive behaviors. Through this process, clients learn to reduce anxiety and gain control over their OCD symptoms.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT encourages clients to embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty for them. It teaches mindfulness skills to help individuals live and behave in ways consistent with their values, fostering psychological flexibility and a greater sense of well-being.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT is a structured approach to couples therapy and individual therapy, focusing on the emotional bonds and patterns within relationships. It aims to create secure, lasting bonds by helping clients understand and express their emotions, fostering deeper connection and emotional intimacy.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic Therapy focuses on the connection between the mind and body, using techniques that incorporate physical experiences to address psychological issues. By paying attention to bodily sensations, clients can release tension, trauma, and stress, leading to improved mental and physical health.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices. At Wildflowers Therapy, DBT helps individuals manage emotions, develop healthy relationships, and cope with stress. This approach is particularly effective for those dealing with intense emotions and self-destructive behaviors.

Strengths-Based and Resiliency-Centered Approach

At Wildflowers Therapy, our strengths-based and resiliency-centered approach focuses on empowering clients by recognizing and building upon their inherent strengths and abilities. This method encourages resilience, helping individuals to overcome challenges and achieve their goals by leveraging their existing skills and resources.

Diversity and Culturally Sensitive

Wildflowers Therapy is committed to providing diversity and culturally sensitive counseling services. We respect and honor the unique cultural backgrounds of our clients, ensuring that our therapeutic approaches are inclusive and tailored to meet the diverse needs of the individuals and communities we serve.

Narrative Therapy

At Wildflowers Therapy, Narrative Therapy helps clients reframe and rewrite their personal stories to empower and inspire positive change. By exploring and reshaping their narratives, individuals can gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences, leading to greater self-awareness and emotional healing.

Attachment Theory

Our approach based on Attachment Theory focuses on understanding and improving relationship dynamics. At Wildflowers Therapy, we help clients explore their attachment styles and how these impact their relationships, fostering healthier connections and emotional bonds.

Motivational Interviewing

At Wildflowers Therapy, Motivational Interviewing is a client-centered approach designed to enhance motivation and commitment to change. Through empathetic and collaborative conversations, we help individuals explore their goals and values, empowering them to overcome ambivalence and make positive, lasting changes in their lives.

Meditation & Guided Imagery

Wildflowers Therapy integrates Meditation & Guided Imagery to promote relaxation and mental clarity. These techniques help clients manage stress, enhance mindfulness, and achieve a state of calm, supporting overall mental and emotional well-being.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

At Wildflowers Therapy, our trauma-informed approach recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and prioritizes creating a safe, empathetic environment for healing. We focus on understanding and addressing the emotional and psychological effects of trauma, empowering clients with coping strategies and resilience to support their recovery and overall well-being.

Solution-Focused Therapy

Solution-Focused Therapy at Wildflowers Therapy emphasizes finding practical solutions to current challenges rather than dwelling on past issues. By identifying strengths and resources, we help clients set and achieve specific, meaningful goals in a short amount of time, fostering a positive and goal-oriented mindset.

Mindfulness

At Wildflowers Therapy, we incorporate mindfulness practices to help clients cultivate present-moment awareness and reduce stress. Through mindfulness, individuals learn to observe their thoughts and feelings without judgment, enhancing emotional regulation, and promoting a sense of calm and well-being.
